- Early pregnancy scan (up to 11 weeks)
– to confirm & date pregnancy and to assess viability.

- Second trimester scan (12-27 weeks);
– fetal anomaly scan (18-23 weeks) – provides a detailed check of baby/foetal structures (anatomy)

– gestational age assessment in late-detected pregnancies
– fetal well-being scan
– gender scan (preferably 16 – 24 weeks)
– to check placental position – and to rule out placental abnormalities.
– to assess amount of amniotic fluid
– assessment of maternal pelvic pathology
– assessment of length of cervix
- Third trimester scan (28 weeks to term).

– fetal presentation scan
– fetal well-being scan
– 3D & 4D scans
– gestational age assessment in late-detected pregnancies
– amniotic fluid assessment
– assessment of maternal pelvic pathology
– assessment of pregnancy complications such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), antepartum bleeding, reduced fetal movements, etc.
– fetal anatomy assessment, particularly if anomalies were suspected on earlier scans
– placenta location checks
